Electronics Design Engineer for Custom Control Systems

Uptalent Job Description:



We are seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Uptalent in a role that will involve designing and developing custom, state-of-the-art electronic and DDC control systems for the building automation industry.



The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting/engineering practices and methods, with experience in using AutoCAD to create and edit drawings, including configuring and updating External Reference Files (Xrefs).



Responsibilities will include preparing submittal documentation, maintaining project drawing files and associated records, and providing technical support to design engineers during the design stages of the project.



The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory and principles related to HVAC controls and direct digital controllers (DDCs), as well as knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Design and develop custom electronic and DDC control systems for the building automation industry.

  • Prepare submittal documentation, including data sheets and technical specifications.

  • Maintain project drawing files and associated records, including as-built drawings.

  • Provide technical support to design engineers during the design stages of the project.

  • Apply and maintain AutoCAD standards, templates, and processes.



Requirements:





  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Proficient in Full Version of AutoCAD release 2015 and AutoCAD LT release 2015.

  • Strong knowledge of drafting/engineering practices and methods.

  • Knowledge of accepted drawing sheet sizes, AutoCAD Pen Table Files (.ctb), and plotting of drawing sheets on a wide format plotter.

  • Understanding of Model Space, Paper Space, and Scale Factors to create and edit drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Experience with configuring and updating AutoCAD External Reference Files (Xrefs).

  • Outstanding skill in written communication to understand written and verbal information and to express such information verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously with varying scope and effectively prioritize workload to ensure deliverables are met.



Salary:



$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
