Internal Controls Specialist: Risk Management Expert

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Internal Controls Specialist to join our team at Adidas. This role is integral to the ongoing focus on Corporate Governance, with a primary objective of developing, supporting, and leading initiatives/projects focused on improving the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of business processes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Timely coordination/execution with Global Business Services (GBS) for local and regional Internal Control Self-Assessment (ICS) testing and Global Control Self-Assessment (GCSA) of key controls, including mandatory documentation and heading remediation of all identified control deficiencies in collaboration with local Senior Management.
  • Supporting execution of retail store compliance audits by suppliers to ensure adherence/compliance to defined controls, policies, and procedures, analyzing/reporting findings, and remediating actions/action plans.
  • Following up on remediating action plans and updating global tools.
  • Reviewing, assessing, and identifying risks within the business proactively and continuously, reducing and mitigating risk with the implementation of comprehensive risk reduction strategies and countermeasures.
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and managing data affecting the Profit and Loss Statement (P&L), developing, recommending, and implementing comprehensive countermeasures to eliminate or minimize losses.

**Policies & Procedures Awareness and Processes Improvement:**

  • Raising awareness/maintaining knowledge of Global/Market/Local policies and procedures, including regular training at local levels.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and regularly updating local policies (based on global/market policies if existing), procedures, and related internal controls based on best practices and Group requirements.
  • Developing, supporting, and leading initiatives/projects focused on improving the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of business processes.

**Reporting:**

  • Producing IC&RP monthly reports from countries and region senior management visibility of risk, findings, and opportunities, including abnormal transaction analysis, shrinkage data, incident, and control deficiencies.
  • Immediate communication of major control deficiencies to Local Audit Manager (LAM).
  • Conducting investigations and completing timely reports/findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participating in the Global Internal Audit meetings, Global/Market ICS network, including ICS calls, WebEx sessions, conferences, sharing of best practices.

**Key Relationships:**

  • Local: General Manager, Finance Director, Heads of Departments, and Process Owners.
  • Market: LAM IC&PP Director, IC&RP Partners.
  • Group: Group Policies & Internal Controls, Group Internal Audit, Group Risk & Compliance Management, GBS, and Cross-functional process owners.
  • External auditors.

  • Focusing on execution; maintaining a solid track record of meeting objectives and producing high-quality work.
  • Showcasing understanding of different cultures, ideas, and needs of consumers.
  • Demonstrating clear communication skills and agility at work to stay connected.
  • Working towards the improvement of processes and standardization of methods between markets/functions.

**Estimated Salary Range:** $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
