Job Description:

We are seeking a Chief Security Risk Management Specialist to join our Global Wealth Engineering team at Scotiabank. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase leadership in Technology Risk Management and play a crucial role in developing and supporting sound security strategies.

About the Role:

As a seasoned Information Security Advisor, you will provide advisory services to assist in the development and support of secure control processes that protect the Bank's information and data resources. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Championing a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Serving as a central point of reference and core competency for Information Security, providing guidance on the implementation of Bank's security policies and standards.
  • Representing Information Security in projects, initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions, working with business lines to develop sound security strategic and tactical plans.
  • Providing guidance to design, develop, and implement risk management controls in accordance with Bank's standards.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A solid understanding of security controls and mechanisms, as well as threat and risk assessment techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security controls, cloud computing concepts, and cloud architecture security.
  • Familiarity with financial services' Security Governance Framework (policies and standards) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to the financial industry.
  • A university degree in computer science or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CRISC are desirable.
What We Offer:

This is a standard office-based environment with non-standard hours being common. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
