**Job Description**:
Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. He / She will oversee operational tasks that include bank reconciliation, entries to the accounting system, and digital file organization, among others. Colombian Taxes preparation (IVA, Renta, Medios Magneticos, others)
- Providing support to the Accounting Department.
- Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Execute monthly corporate accounting close procedures and deliverables over various accounts (e.g., cash, prepaid, fixed assets, leases, accruals/reserves, debt, allocations, insurance, and equity)
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analytics for relevant areas.
- Execute monthly close for Company’s Colombia-based operation.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable (Colombia) and receivable (USA).
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
- Manage all cash management functions including payments approvals, wires and borrowing when necessary. Ensure adequate liquidity for the country´s legal entities’ working capital needs. Manage inter-company cash exchanges, wire calendars and contractors’ approvals.
- Preparing financial analyses and reports.
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results to Financial Director.
- Prepare financial statements according to schedule.
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Prepare tax audits and tax returns
- Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
- Assisting with audit requests.
- Invoice processing.
**Qualifications**:
**Knowledge + Experience**
- 3+ years' of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Good communication skills (B2 English level)
- Outstanding tax knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
- Experience with accounting software (knowledge of Práxedes
- Midasoft is advantage)
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
