Bogota, Colombia Center for Reproductive Rights A tiempo completo

**Job Title**: Project Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean

**Department**: Programs

**Center Background**: The Center for Reproductive Rights (the Center) is a global human rights organization working to ensure that reproductive rights are protected in law as fundamental human rights around the world. With offices in New York City, New York; Nairobi, Kenya; Bogota, Colombia; Geneva, Switzerland; and Washington, D.C., the Center is a non-profit, non-partisan organization changing law and policy throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the United States. Our 230+ diverse professionals are committed to advancing the Center's human rights mission through game-changing litigation, legal policy, and advocacy work. This has powered the Center's exceptional growth to an operating budget of over $50 million and won the respect of law firms in countries around the world, with an additional $29 million annually of donated legal services, representing the work of countless lawyers from more than 46 countries.

The Center's Strategic Plan sets a high mark for impact**: By 2030, half of the world's population will be living under stronger protections for reproductive rights than they are today.** The Center has a track record of success to back up this ambitious goal. Since our founding in 1992, the Center has transformed how reproductive rights are understood and applied by courts, governments, and human rights bodies worldwide on issues including maternal health, abortion, assisted reproduction, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). We have won groundbreaking cases before national courts, U.N. Committees, and regional human rights bodies. Additionally, the Center has led the development of historic, proactive legislation advancing robust protections for reproductive rights and has built the legal capacity of women's rights advocates in more than 65 countries and counting.

**The Role**:This a new role within the Center's Program Division. The role will provide support to the Latin America Program in the management and execution of a new multi-million-dollar restricted grant funded by Global Affairs Canada. The grant aims to improve access to Sexual Reproduction Health Rights (SRHR) of women and adolescents in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Guatemala, by building the requisite political and legal support at national, regional, and global levels.

**About the project**

The project will implement legal advocacy strategies in the 13 countries and at the UN tailored to the specific systemic challenges and prevalent SRHR violations faced by women and adolescents in each context, while also drawing lessons learned to inform strategies across countries and via global processes. The project will also expand on the Center's existing work with national level partners to build capacities of national legal entities and organizations. The project will build norms and standards with Africa regional and sub-regional bodies, as well a regional body in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Finally, protecting and advancing SRHR in global processes (e.g. UN General Assembly, Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), Commission on Population and Development (CPD), Human Rights Council, Treaty Monitoring Bodies (TMBs), and Special Procedures and Universal Periodic Review) form a crucial component of maintaining a circle of accountability prioritized by the project. As such the project crosses three Center departments. These are the Africa region, the LAC region, and Global Advocacy (GA).

**About the role**

Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Project Coordinator for LAC will manage the project execution to assure strategies and activities are responsive to the stated priorities of the Center's grant agreement with GAC, as well as in line with the Center's Africa, and GA departmental strategies.

The position will be based in the Center's Bogotá office. International travel required.

**Primary Responsibilities**:The primary job responsibilities for LAC include, but are not limited to:

- Lead the management and compliance of the project for LAC.
- Work closely with the AD of Programs in the overall project execution for LAC.
- Coordinate the project knowledge management for LAC, including setting up and maintaining project documents on the organization-wide SharePoint site.
- Lead the communications with the Project Director
- Coordinate with the project units involved in project implementation, the development of project internal and external narrative and financial reports.
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, manage the contracts and agreements for the project, supporting LAC's Partnership Agreements process which includes drafting and monitoring agreements with partners.
- Manage the monitoring of the project risk and mitigation
