The Technical Training Writer will fill a key role within the fast-growing TransUnion Marketing Solutions Team.

We are scaling quickly and need your help to document specifications, user training guides and training materials for our products to educate internal associates and external customers.


  • 12 years of experience in technical writing and product documentation.
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English, or relevant technical field.
  • Ability to identify needs and create product documentation using best practice methodologies.
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
  • Experience working with and documenting API for developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across remote teams with strong energy, drive and enthusiasm balanced with patience, persistence, and diplomacy.
  • Experience using Design Thinking to address issues and center documentation on the needs of the end user.
  • Experience creating and updating process flows for use across multiple departments.
  • Proven experience documenting in a technical field, such as software development computer science, or engineering.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.
  • Fluent in English (writing and spoken).

  • Work with product managers and SMEs to create and maintain product documentation including procedural manuals, process documentation, training materials, and other technical documents.
  • Partner with Training to create and maintain materials to educate TU Marketing Solutions associates on our products and solutions.
  • Maintain internal Knowledge base to centralize documentation and help answer productrelated questions.
  • Identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain product documentation templates that allow for ease of use and understanding.

What We'd Love to See:

  • Experience working with and documenting API for developers.
  • Domain expertise in digital marketing.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Editing and proofreading experience of your own work, peer review the work of other technical writers and providing constructive feedback to ensure the documents are free of grammatical mistakes, structural formatting, and technical inaccuracies.
  • Experience creating quality visuals, screen captures, and diagrams. (Adobe CC, SnagIt, etc.)
  • Experience with video production including scripting, directing, recording, and editing.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.
  • Experience with MadCap Flare or other online help authoring tools.
  • Experience with SharePoint Communication site pages and web design (CSS and HTML).
  • B.A./B.S. degree in relevant technical field.
