**We are hiring a Strategic Meeting Planning Supervisor who will establish the strategy and lead a group of planners in the execution of Medical Education meetings and events. Key attributes we are looking for in this new leader are strategic, forward-thinking, confident, and globally minded, with the determination to deliver above and beyond.
You will work in close partnership with Marketing, Office of Medical Affairs (OMA), Corporate and other business unit functional teams in the execution of strategic support to drive business results.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high visibility organization and can articulate a strategy, gain alignment from senior leaders, then execute on it together with the team.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Lead
- Responsible for the overall management and communication of strategies and initiatives for the Medical Education Event Management team supporting Latin America.
- Establishes operational plans, implements policies and strategies, and leads process improvement activities for the Medical Education Event Management
- Evaluate and analyzes meeting results and make recommendations for future meetings, including budgetary, sourcing, strategies, and tactics to achieve business goals
- Maintain understanding of products, strategies, and business changes within the region led market related to meetings & events to also include new product divisions and businesses
- Integrate knowledge of meetings, events, conventions, customer engagement, and promotional expertise, to maximize the impact of Medtronic participation at meetings and events
Partner
- Partner across Medtronic on best practice sharing, process improvement, synergies, and vendor management
- Partner successfully with region led market to ensure meetings and events are supportive of functional strategies
- Ensure Meetings and Events activities are in compliance with AdvaMed, corporate BCS, local & regional laws, Legal and Regulatory, and association guidelines.
Manage
- Manage and coach the Medical Education Event Management team to ensure a high level of proficiency and motivation in their jobs.
- Mentor and develop the Medical Education Event Management team for future career opportunities; to include training, performance, development plans, objective setting, rewards, and recognition, stretch assignments, etc.
- Lead the Medical Education Event Management team in process improvement efforts / strategies to support the business / implementation of best practices
- Ownership of responsibilities which facilitate the Medical Education Event Management team
Must Have:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4 years' experience in a formal meeting planning, events, or convention's role.
- Fluent in English level.
- Formal or informal people management and talent development experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Knowledge in feedback and coaching process.
- Proficiency with MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Customer services experience.
- Excellent critical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player.
- Reporting and analytical experience.
- Detail oriented.
- Team player.
- Good adaptability.
Nice to Have
- Fluent in Portuguese level.
- Meeting planning or conventions experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- CMP (Certified Meeting Planner).
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Knowledge in Siebel, Cvent, Workfront, Concur, would be helpful.
