RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take daytoday ownership of the local financial and accounting requirements across certain entities in the Americas region, including understanding and actively mitigating against any local financial risks
- Lead the local monthend close processes and maintenance of the general ledgers
- Timely and accurate preparation of local country monthly financial statements
- Review and approve General Journal entries, invoices, payments, and expenses, as required
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations to ensure an accurate monthly accounting close process, including the review of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts
- Work with local vendors to assist in the preparation and review of Tax filings and local Financial Statements
- Assist with process improvements and automation projects across the region
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- BA/BS in Finance/Accounting or equivalent working experience required
- Relevant professional qualifications in finance, such as CA/ACCA/CPA required
- Business proficiency in the English language required
- Experience in corporate tax preparation and local statutory accounting reporting in other countries such as Canada, Brazil, Mexico, or Argentina is highly preferred
- 6+ years of accounting/finance experience required
- Experience in corporate tax in Colombia, foreign currency transactions, and understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP required
- Technologyliterate, Microsoft Suite and NetSuite experience preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work in both tactical and strategic capacities
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to juggle a variety of tasks
- Ability to take ownership and carry accountability even when working closely together with the team
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills to enable effective interaction with all levels of personnel
