JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Bogota, Colombia Office

Job Title: Payroll Processor 1

Department: Payroll

Reports To: Sr Payroll Specialist, Payroll Services

Ensures the accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, provides timely and accurate financial information, participates in employee’s payroll support and daily data entry payroll processing in Colombia. Performs analytical functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, taxes, and corporate policy. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities :

Key responsibility for Colombia payrollManage workflow to ensure all payroll inputs for employees are captured and aggregated for processing pay for ColombiaReconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reportsUnderstand proper taxation of employer paid benefits in ColombiaUnderstanding of correct garnishment calculations and compliance Analyze time and attendance report and balancesProcess AFC payment checks on local banksUpload import files received from HR, Compensation, and external vendorsRespond to payroll questions from employees via email or a ticketing system in a timely mannerResearch employee questions and provide proper directionParticipate in problem solving meeting with our payroll vendor and with HR business partnersProvide direction to the HR team regarding payroll best practices in Colombia

Education and Experience :

Accounting, Business Administration, Finance  1+ years’ experience in Payroll Processing/administration/accounting 1+ years’ experience supporting payroll/HR related systems Knowledge of Colombia payroll legislation ., Vacation, OT, & Sick Pay rules This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to document detailed information and analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents clearly and concisely. The ability to respond effectively to clients, vendors employees and management and to handle sensitive and/or confidential communications is also required. 

Skills :

Primary communication in Spanish, English desirable. Intermediate Excel/Outlook proficiency Strong initiative, decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills Detail oriented and highly organized Team player who is willing to step in and assist others if needed Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Knowledge on Payroll best practices In person office work

Health & Safety Requirements:

Comply with rules, regulations and policies related to Health and Safety at Work (H&S). Apply the rules to ensure a workplace free of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. Know and use properly the H&S procedures for assigned tasks, as well know their risks related to work activities, apply the measures to control it and participate in the prevention of occupational risks through the activities carried out in the company. Report the risk conditions detected. Report immediately any work accident or incident. Provide clear, complete, and truthful information about their status of health. Must take an active role in self-care and illness prevention. Comply with the schedule of medical examinations. Participate in induction activities and training in Safety and Health at Work. Know and apply basic safety standards for commonly used tools (PC, Monitor, Chairs, Headband). Know and apply workplace emergency procedures, including alarms, protection systems, emergency systems and communications. Participate in the election of the joint committee on safety and health at work (COPASST in Spanish) and the election of the Cohabitation committee.
