Seeking someone enthusiastic and detail-oriented to join our team. The candidate is responsible for, but not limited to, identifying, investigating, and resolving suspected fraudulent activity related to customer transactions and payment disputes. This role involves analyzing transactional data, reviewing dispute claims, gathering evidence, and making accurate determinations in compliance with regulatory requirements, card network rules, and internal policies.

The investigator plays a key role in minimizing financial losses while ensuring fair outcomes and a positive customer experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Investigate transactional disputes and suspected fraudulent activities, including card-not-present, card-present, ACH, wire, and digital payment transactions
  • Analyze transaction patterns, account activity, and supporting documentation to determine fraud validity
  • Review chargebacks and disputes in accordance with card network rules and regulatory guidelines
  • Gather, document, and preserve evidence to support investigation findings
  • Make timely and accurate decisions on dispute resolutions, credits, or recoveries
  • Identify trends, emerging fraud patterns, and potential control weaknesses
  • Collaborate with fraud prevention, risk, compliance, and customer service teams
  • Communicate findings clearly through written reports and case notes
  • Ensure investigations meet established service-level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce fraud losses and dispute volumes
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all data privacy and security requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience using Green Screen (preferred)
  • Familiarity with card network rules, Reg E, Reg Z, or similar regulations (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high case volumes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills
  • Experience in fraud investigations, dispute processing, chargebacks, or financial services operations
  • Understanding of basic fraud typologies (account takeover, unauthorized transactions, friendly fraud)
