About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Xebia, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver scalable and robust data solutions for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining data platforms and pipelines, as well as mentoring new engineers. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of data solutions across a variety of cloud platforms and technologies.

What You'll Do

Data Engineering and Development

  • Engineer data platforms for scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Design and implement big data streaming capabilities and optimize data processing.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, ensuring efficient data workflows and processing.
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure in collaboration with Platform & Reliability
    Engineers.

Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Work alongside analysts to enhance the overall data experience and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Onboard and mentor new engineers, providing guidance to both client and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with various global clients to deliver best practices for scalable data solutions.

Code Quality and Best Practices

  • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes using tools like Apache Airflow and AWS Glue.
  • Leverage big data frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spark, SQL) to build efficient data pipelines.
  • Ensure adherence to high standards of code quality, utilizing tools like version control systems (VCS) and CI/CD pipelines for data environments.

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in a senior developer role, with expertise in Python and hands-on experience building data processing pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or Scala.
  • Experience with data processing frameworks like Spark and SQL.
  • Expertise in cloud data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
  • In-depth knowledge of database systems (both relational and NoSQL), data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes and data integration workflows.
  • Extensive experience working with cloud platforms (especially AWS), including technologies like DynamoDB, S3/Athena, Docker, and Kubernetes.
