Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with Ruby on Rails and React for a full-time remote position (40 hours per week) in Colombia. Our client is a growth-stage SaaS company reimagining how members engage and learn within modern communities of practice. The platform fosters member engagement with both content and human connections, aiming to create vibrant community experiences that deliver greater value and support organizational growth.

About the product: a multi-tenant SaaS platform that connects community and learning to increase engagement, the product focuses on delivering high-value user experiences, utilizing real-time monitoring, alerting, and data-driven decision-making.

About the technology organization: The Product and Engineering Teams report up through the CTO. It is an entirely virtual team spread across four time zones in the mainland US. Most of the team works Central Time business hours. They have a culture of deep collaboration across all teams. Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Client Services, in particular, work closely together every single day—the engineering team practices Test-Driven Development with an emphasis on pair programming. The engineers rotate between pairs regularly, ensuring a broad understanding of the platform and its features. The team employs a CI/CD system that enables frequent deployment to production. They deploy daily, but release features from behind a feature flag as part of a product release cycle.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Advanced knowledge of REST API design.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks like RSpec, Jasmine/Jest.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Understanding Git/GitHub, CI tools.
• Solid background in software design patterns.
• Understanding Agile methodologies and processes.
• Practical communication skills in collaborative and feedback-driven environments.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mentality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work on delivering high-value products and experiences while also contributing to development standards and collaborative practices.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Understanding refactoring from Angular to React.
• Experience working in Test Driven Development in a Pair Programming model.
• Understanding of creating responsive interfaces across device types.
