Catalyst Consulting is a boutique, revenue-centric performance marketing consultancy. We partner with a small number of high-growth companies and take full ownership of pipeline and revenue performance — not vanity metrics.
This role is not client-facing.
This role is not entry-level.
This role is not for someone who needs to be told what to do.
We are hiring a Principal Performance Marketing Strategist to be the technical brain behind campaign performance across all Catalyst clients.
You will own performance. Full stop.
The Role (Read This Carefully)
This role exists because execution without understanding why things work doesn't scale.
You will:
- Own paid media performance across all active Catalyst accounts
- Act as the technical authority behind Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, tracking, and CRM attribution
- Spend as much time in HubSpot as in ad platforms
- Lead strategy and optimization decisions for large-budget accounts ($100k+/month)
- Guide two junior performance marketers who handle routine execution tasks
You will not:
- Interface with clients
- Be micromanaged
- Be handed step-by-step instructions
- Be rewarded for "activity" instead of results
What You'll Actually Do
- Performance Ownership
Own revenue, pipeline quality, and down-funnel performance for all accounts
Diagnose performance issues and fix them without being asked
- Paid Media Strategy
- Architect and optimize campaigns across:
Google Ads (Search-focused)
Meta
- Make budget allocation decisions based on data, not opinions
- CRM & Attribution
Live inside HubSpot
Validate lead quality, pipeline velocity, and close-won attribution
Identify disconnects between ads → leads → sales → revenue
- Tracking & Infrastructure
- Own tracking strategy via:
Google Tag Manager
UTMs
- Conversion architecture
Ensure platforms reflect reality, not platform-reported fantasy metrics
- Team Enablement
Delegate execution tasks to junior marketers
Review their work for correctness and performance impact
Raise the technical bar without hand-holding

Required Experience
Expert-level Google Ads (Search)
Expert-level Meta Ads
Expert-level LinkedIn Ads
Advanced Google Tag Manager
Advanced HubSpot (Marketing + Sales)
Strong grasp of:
Attribution
Funnel analysis
Revenue modeling
Proven experience managing large monthly budgets ($100k+)
B2B SaaS experience strongly preferred
Certifications are nice but not a substitute for real-world results.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $45,000–$60,000 USD (based on experience and proven capability)
