Job Overview
As a Lead Software Engineer with a specialization in AI, you will play a key role in designing and scaling intelligent systems that power our products. You'll lead a team of engineers while collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and data science teams to deliver production-ready features and infrastructure rooted in AI/ML.
As part of the Luna Joy team, you will play an essential role in directly contributing to the support of the mental health journey of one million women with purpose-driven innovation, unwavering compassion, and transformative care. You will need speed to adapt quickly and efficiently to a fast-paced, agile development environment and the drive to be 1% better every day, constantly striving for improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable software systems with embedded AI components.
- Work closely with data scientists and product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions using ML/AI models.
- Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and career development.
- Evaluate and integrate AI/ML technologies and frameworks that align with our product roadmap.
- Ensure best practices in software development, including testing, monitoring, and documentation.
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and help define sprints and roadmaps.
- Help manage infrastructure for AI model training, deployment, and monitoring.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, , Java).
- Strong experience in AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Experience deploying ML models in production environments.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts and tools (e.g., Airflow, Spark, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Haves:
- Prior experience in a healthtech, mental health, or digital wellness company.
- Exposure to LLMs (Large Language Models), NLP, or generative AI applications.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks like HIPAA or SOC 2.
- Experience with healthcare or telehealth platforms.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data privacy regulations.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
