Summary
The Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data processes related to client management, portfolio allocation and valuation processes. The role reports to the Manager, Analytics and includes taking responsibility, automate and maintain daily updates to critical summary tables and dashboards, overall reports to servicers, monthly evaluations of new categories in customer data and support in sampling and allocation for new portfolios. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to the ongoing improvement of allocation models through data quality and assist in the valuation process for newly acquired portfolios. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and experience in data management and dashboard maintenance.
Main Responsibilities
Monthly Allocation
- Assist in sampling and allocation of clients to active servicers.
- Support in executing the reforecast model to generate the expected value for allocated clients.
- Update tracking dashboards with the latest allocation information and potential modifications within the month.
- Assist in updating and inserting new records into all allocation tables when new portfolios are purchased.
New Portfolio Valuation
- Analyze the data completeness and quality of potential portfolios. Work with the valuation team to understand the current opportunity, send questions to the seller and assist in structuring the data to be fed to the valuation model to price new portfolios.
- Create necessary tables to migrate the portfolio to JCC SOR using information provided by the bank.
- Consolidate information from awarded portfolios in the respective tables for reporting purposes.
Updating Summary Tables
- Daily update of queries that create summary tables with information on payments, management, and client allocation, which will serve as the official sources for dashboards, models, and team analyses.
Dashboard Maintenance
- Daily update of "Champion Challenger" and overall asset tracking (Placements) dashboards in Knime and PowerBI.
- Work with Operation analyst to report on trends that could affect the current month performance.
Querys Maintenance
- Monthly evaluation of the creation of new tables, new management categories and new servicers, and modification of all relevant queries.
Payment and Invoicing Report
- Consolidate daily payment information from the SAB system and send it to each servicer via FTP to ensure tracking and control of collections.
- Generate the monthly invoice report for the servicers, ensuring the initial filtering of this information and serving as a backup for the overall process
Requirements
- Passionate about data mining, data transformation and task automation, with technical studies or professional degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Economics or Finance)
- Experience working with databases for reporting or operations purposes
- Good knowledge of SQL language and data management tools (SQL Management Studio, Microsoft Access)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Acquainted with analytical tools as Knime, SAS, Python or R
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and a team player with effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn and participate in collaboration efforts for improving daily operations
- Awareness of current regulations, policies, and practices in the receivable management industry
- Ability to assist in creating and managing departmental processes and guidelines
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Colombian financial regulations and industry best practices is beneficial
- Proficiency in English (B2)
