About the job Criminal Defense Paralegal

RecLatam is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Criminal Defense Paralegal for a U.S.-based law firm. This is a remote position with a flexible schedule and the possibility of growing into a full-time role in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys in criminal defense cases in South Florida.
  • Prepare, draft, and file legal documents and pleadings.
  • Manage case files and communicate with clients and court personnel.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions.
  • Utilize Floridas JAC system and e-filing portal.
  • Maintain organized case records using Dropbox and Google Sheets.

Requirements:

  • Proven background in Florida criminal defense (required).
  • Spanish-speaking (preferred).
  • Experience drafting motions and pleadings.
  • Familiarity with Floridas JAC system and e-filing portal.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
