Based in Washington, DC, Phoenix Solar specializes in originating, financing, and developing solar projects. We fully finance the system costs and increase the revenue of site owners via rooftop lease payments or on-site savings. Our mission is to help the nation reach its renewable energy goals and lower the cost of electricity.

We are looking for a results-driven person who is passionate about renewable energy to join our team in Colombia as a Financial Analyst.

Responsibilities

System Utilization

  • Proficiently use accounting, collections, and payments software.
  • Configure software to align with and optimize business processes.

Bookkeeping

  • Execute bookkeeping tasks and oversee project account management.
  • Contribute to monthly financial close activities.

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

  • Effectively manage company accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Lead collections efforts to ensure timely payments.

Vendor Onboarding

  • Oversee the vendor onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure compliance with payment and invoicing procedures.

Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Assist in managing payroll, staff commissions, health insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Assist in managing contractor payments.

Contractor and Project Financial Oversight

  • Assist in managing third-party contractor invoices, expenses, change orders, and project cost reconciliations.

Tax Compliance

  • Collaborate in preparing and filing tax returns for federal, state, and local taxes.

Budgeting and Financial Analysis

  • Contribute to the preparation and management of operational budgets.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of actuals versus budget.
  • Report Selling, General, and Administrative (SG&A) expense variances against the budget.

Reporting

  • Generate and present any required financial reports.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced written and verbal English skills are a must.
  • Advanced skill in Excel is required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to easily zoom in on details and zoom out to high-level strategy.
  • Ability to use web-based systems (CRM, task management, document management).
  • Ability to delve into problems and find solutions on their own, work autonomously, and collaboratively.
  • It's a plus to know about QuickBooks Online and
