We are seeking a
Compliance Associate
to support our Compliance Officer in all aspects of compliance and risk management across the organization. This is a high‑visibility role, working closely with a member of our executive team.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years in a compliance role
, ideally in consumer finance (debt buying, sales finance, loan servicing, or debt collections)
for a U.S.‑based bank, private lender, or finance company
. - Conversational English B2+
. - Demonstrated success in process improvement and solving problems at their root cause
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to meet strict monthly deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex issues clearly.
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and Microsoft Teams. - Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Oversight & Risk Management
- Interpret and apply relevant U.S. federal and state consumer finance laws
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and enforcement trends; communicate operational impacts.
- Stay current on compliance developments through continuing education and training.
- Conduct annual reviews of compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls, enhancing when necessary.
Monitoring, Testing & Reporting
- Execute compliance testing and present findings in a clear, actionable format.
- Monitor reporting and recommend improvements.
- Track remediation of compliance issues through resolution and maintain detailed audit documentation.
- Support the Compliance Officer in identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Regulatory Interaction & Documentation
- Assist in preparing responses for regulatory and state examinations.
- Research state licensing requirements for various business units.
