Telepatia AI is dedicated to improving healthcare through the development of an AI Doctor. We recently secured a $9 million seed round—the largest in Latin America—backed by global investors. Our team consists of experts from institutions such as Stanford, Microsoft, MD Anderson, and Houston Methodist.

While much of medical technology focuses on imaging, the vast majority of medical decisions are derived from voice interactions. Our mission is to capture this voice data and convert it into structured, reliable clinical intelligence, thereby establishing the foundation for an AI-first healthcare system. We are assembling a high-caliber technical team with the ambition to build a transformative solution for the industry.

Role Mission

As an AI Engineer at Telepatia, your primary objective is to design, build, and deploy AI systems that translate unstructured clinical conversations into structured medical intelligence. You will operate across the entire technology stack, ranging from backend Python microservices and LLM orchestration to lightweight front-end interfaces and data pipelines.

You will join a compact, specialized team where individual output directly influences system accuracy and clinical efficiency. This role is designed for engineers who are accustomed to rapid development cycles and possess the autonomy to push the boundaries of applied AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Microservices development: Design, build, and scale Python microservices (specifically using FastAPI) to manage real-time inference and structured data processing.
  • AI pipeline orchestration: Construct AI agent pipelines for reasoning and multi-step workflows utilizing tools such as LangChain or CrewAI.
  • Data infrastructure: Develop data pipelines and evaluation dashboards to monitor, analyze, and enhance the performance of AI models.
  • Rapid prototyping: Collaborate with clinicians and product managers to translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready features, often within short timeframes.
  • Product integration: integrate models into the core medical scribe product to improve automation and reliability.
  • Technical strategy: Contribute to critical decisions regarding infrastructure, scalability, and model evaluation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Backend expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, with a specific focus on microservices (FastAPI is preferred).
  • AI application experience: Demonstrated experience at the AI application layer, specifically with LLM orchestration, agents, and pipelines (using LangChain, CrewAI, or similar tools).
  • Frontend familiarity: Knowledge of React (with Tailwind) or Flutter to support rapid prototyping and data visualization.
  • Data engineering: Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and evaluation dashboards for AI models.
  • Execution speed: A priority on shipping practical value quickly rather than seeking theoretical perfection.
  • Problem solving: The ability to take ambiguous requests and convert them into working features in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A background in hard sciences, such as physics or mathematics.
  • Experience with vector databases, RAG architectures, or model evaluation frameworks.
  • Prior experience with healthcare data, EHR systems, or compliance standards such as HIPAA or LGPD.
