Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be a senior operational leader in Colombia,
responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of Accounting, Human Resources, and local office operations
. This role ensures operational discipline, compliance, efficiency, and scalability across support functions while enabling business growth.

The Operations Manager will directly oversee the HR Manager and lead the Accounting function, while also owning local office logistics, vendor management, purchasing, and administrative operations. This role works closely with the Operations Director to translate strategy into execution and to maintain strong operational controls across the Colombia organization.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Lead and oversee the local accounting team and all accounting operations in Colombia.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Enforce internal controls, expense policies, and approval workflows.
  • Coordinate with corporate finance leadership on budgets, forecasts, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee payroll coordination, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and labor-related financial obligations.

Human Resources Leadership

  • Directly manage and support the HR Manager.
  • Ensure effective execution of HR processes including hiring, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Oversee compliance with Colombian labor laws, policies, and documentation.
  • Support workforce planning, compensation administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Act as an escalation point for sensitive HR matters and ensure timely resolution.

Office Operations & Logistics

  • Own day-to-day office operations, facilities management, and workspace logistics.
  • Manage vendors related to facilities, IT support, security, cleaning, supplies, and services.
  • Oversee purchasing processes, vendor contracts, renewals, and cost controls.
  • Ensure office infrastructure supports productivity, growth, and compliance.
  • Maintain operational continuity and address issues proactively.

Vendor Management & Purchasing

  • Establish and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and service levels.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements where appropriate.
  • Implement purchasing controls, approval processes, and inventory management.
  • Track vendor performance and address service or compliance issues.

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Serve as a key operational partner to the Operations Director in Colombia.
  • Implement standardized processes, SOPs, and controls across Accounting, HR, and office operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide clear reporting, metrics, and operational visibility to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in operations, accounting, HR, or general management roles.
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple functions (Accounting and/or HR strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Colombian labor laws, payroll practices, and local compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing vendors, purchasing, and office operations.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multinational or high-growth organization.
  • Familiarity with shared services, call center, or BPO environments.
  • Experience partnering with U.S.-based leadership or global teams.
  • Advanced Excel and operational reporting skills.
