Role Summary

The Principal Cloud Platform Engineer is the senior technical leader for the Cloud Operations Platform team. This role drives the architecture, automation, and delivery of standardized tooling and infrastructure for multi-cloud SaaS environments. You will design and implement platform components, mentor engineers, and ensure technical excellence, security, and compliance across all cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture & Design

  • Define and maintain platform architecture for multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, private cloud).

  • Develop and enforce standards for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and modular deployment patterns.

  • Lead design and implementation of internal platforms (developer portals, runbooks, automation frameworks).

  • Ensure platform components meet security, compliance, and operational standards.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies for platform delivery and automation.

  • Technical Leadership

  • Mentor and guide Cloud Platform Engineers and DevOps Engineers.

  • Provide technical direction and oversight for platform projects and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with product engineering, security, and operations teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in platform engineering practices.

  • Operational Excellence

  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of platform infrastructure.

  • Proven experience designing and delivering multi-cloud platforms for SaaS environments.

  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and operational best practices.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CKA, ITIL.
