The General Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, developing, and oversight of all commercial activities to ensure region revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals are met for the region and business operations in region. The primary responsibility is to develop and lead regional business unit to achieve revenue targets while selling a premium product line in a complex selling environment and the execution of service delivery. The General Manager will oversee and manage key performance metrics to include funnel management, value selling, and long-range planning. The General Manager will operate in a matrix organization, and will be responsible for leading the commercial organization, while also providing strategic leadership across the different functions to ensure the organization optimally.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Expected to meet or exceed plan for growth in region for new and existing business accounts.
- Overall performance of the commercial organization in region including the responsibilities of coaching, developing, and providing ongoing feedback and guidance on professional development.
- Create and executes actionable strategies for the commercial team based upon sales data analytics and market insights.
- Hire, assess, coach and motivate high performing associates and commercial leaders.
- Leverage people leadership capabilities by engaging and developing a high-performance team.
- Understanding and utilizing key market dynamics for developing and closing complex sales
- Developing and implementing customer-specific action plans.
- Developing and recruiting key partnerships in region
- Prospecting, recruiting, and training of key personnel.
- Work with Executive Leadership and Marketing to provide market insights.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Maintains effective collaboration and coordination of internal resources to ensure company sales targets are met.
- Experience planning and driving new product launch strategies in conjunction with Product Marketing.
- Provides consistent field interaction and communication to ensure company's message is clearly communicated.
- Ability to connect with and coordinate between key customers and internal/external stakeholders to promote and expand business opportunities.
- Acts as the regional managing director or regional CEO on behalf of company.
**About You**
- Significant experience working at a senior General Management, CEO or Vice President level preferably within the HR or software sales Industry.
- Experience managing a profitable P&L
- Strategic thinking ability which supports a long-term 3-5-year vision being achieved
- Strong customer and financial analytical skills and the ability to leverage them effectively to maximize business partnerships.
- Leadership which can be described as an authentic and inspiring style which empowers and develops the team to be successful.
- Strong project management/program management skills
- Strong understanding of the industrial and regulatory requirements
- Significant problem analysis and resolution experience at both a strategic and functional level
- A strong level of resilience and understanding for diverse teams and customers.
- Strong customer ethos and the ability to channel insight into profitable deliverables.
