Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Bogota, Colombia to support our local operations and liaise with our Shared Service Center in UK. This position will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities as well as identifying cost saving and control enhancement opportunities. directly with CFO and finance staff throughout the region.

This is job for a person who enjoys being involved in both accounting and business operations.

**Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following**:

- Maintain, analyze, and summarize general ledger accounts
- Prepare month end journal entries
- Prepare monthly reconciliation for all tax accounts
- Coordinate with Shared Service Center (bookkeeping, accounts payable, cash allocations, intercompany transactions)
- Responsible for responding to audit queries from external auditors or DIAN
- Identify correct tax treatment for all local invoices and expense reports
- Responsible for reviewing tax GLs for accuracy for month end close process
- Business Operations - Cost Controls, Purchasing and Process Improvement
- Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting system and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring external payroll calculations are accurate and reconciling to local accounts

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of 3 years of Colombian accounting experience.
- Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Fluency in English (English level B2 Plus). Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with JD Edwards considered a plus
- Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities
- Experience with local tax filings and compliance
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to identify process improvements and promote changes
