Design Checker Ii

Do you have a keen eye for detail? We are looking for you As a Design Checker II, you will examine basic engineering drawings/models and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design. These cover a very wide range, from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll be responsible to ensure drawing completeness, clarity, dimensional accuracy, and conformity to design/drafting standards and specifications. You'll identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in designs.

Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.

Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and typically 3 or more years of relevant experience- A higher level degree may substitute for experience- Associates Degree in Drafting or other related experience may be considered in lieu of required education- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education- Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices- Experience with technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications- Basic knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware and or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes

Preferred:
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools- Exposure to Documentation Control Database and/or Materials Resource Planning (MRP) Systems- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required- Learn more about the background check process for Security ClearancesIMPORTANT NOTICE:
