**Purpose of the position**:
The Associate Director of Communications creates, implements and manages marketing & communications plans that align with the overall goals for the Ecosystem-based Adaptation strategies for Regenerative Ranching and Agriculture (EbA R2A) Latin America Regional Program and country projects in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.

The primary focus is to increase awareness, engage stakeholders, influence conservation action, and achieve set goals for the program. A crucial part of their responsibility involves attracting future partners and executing the communications strategy for the EbA R2A platform.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the EbA R2A Program and associated platform with audiences, public relations, channels, messaging framework.
- Design and manage visual identity guidelines for the R2A Program and its platform, in alignment with TNC and partners, to build visibility and awareness.
- Manage digital presence (website, social media channels) to promote the EbA R2A Program.
- Create core messaging and talking points for EbA R2A Program.
- Produce communications content (blogs, fact sheets, infographics, presentations, press releases).
- Develop a public relations and thought leadership plan targeting key influencers within the Program and associated partners, identifying events, conferences, media spaces where the EbA R2A Program can be positioned and promoted.
- Develop a corporate communications strategy for platform partners and companies to engage in the Program and Platform.
- Identify and cultivate media contacts on national and regional levels; manage media pitches.
- Develop and run communications campaigns to raise visibility and support advocacy.
- Coordinate communications activities for TNC’s Regional R2A strategy (update website, produce internal communications, blog writing) and draft content for TNC’s Regional R2A Strategy Lead in presentations, events, talking points.
- Manage a portfolio of external vendors and respective budget for graphic design, communications and digital strategies.
- Coordinate regional work across multiple internal groups: Marketing staff in countries, Regional Marketing staff and Global Marketing staff.
- Actively contribute at monthly Latin America Marketing Editorial meetings on behalf of TNC’s Regional R2A Strategy to identify opportunities to raise R2A’s voice through TNC’s channels.
- Coordinate with consortium partners (academic institutions and corporate partners) and support country marketing staff to consolidate internal and external communications content.
- Assists with creation/administration of budget, evaluates results and develops corrective strategies, as needed.
- Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.
- Manages and maintains electronic shared files and folders in TNC internal file management system.
- Opportunity to act independently within specific program or project goals. Work checked through agreement by superiors.

**Requirements and competences to work with us**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum.

**Experience**:

- 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supervising staff and teams.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated, and ability to communicate clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in Spanish and English.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance and conflict resolution.
- Fosters an environment of creativity and professional growth.
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to persuasively convey the mission of TNC to diverse groups including donors, board members, and the public.
