**WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU**:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Sustainable Productive Systems Technical Specialist (SPTSS) supports and provides technical leadership to the Colombia business unit in conservation and sustainable agriculture and cattle ranching production programs and stewardship following an approach toward the development of sustainable value change. The SPtSS implements sustainable production systems and land use planning strategies and employs a full range of tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest and local participation and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC conservation and sustainable production priorities. The SPTSS coordinates community and institutional support, ensures the maintenance of sustainable agriculture projects and programs and coordinates multiple projects, sets deadlines and manages completion. The SPTSS addresses critical threats to natural and agricultural systems, fosters cross-site learning among conservation and sustainable production community, and supplies conservation and sustainable agricultural planning teams with farms or landscape level information relevant to the planning process.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Works under the supervision of the program leader or project managers and supports it for the planning, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects and operational actions.
- Makes strategic alliances with public and private organizations to identify and resolve technical issues
- Coordinates the preparation of technical studies and presents the results to partners and develops strategies for the fulfillment of the objectives of the program.
- Ensures compliance with TNC's internal policies and external requirements
- Follow up with contractors to comply with TNC procedures.
- Performs tasks with mínimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.

- Strengthen both technical and administrative capacities with stakeholders and staff.

- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among the team that allows for rapid conflict resolution, and appreciation of diversity, as well as effective cohesion, support, and joint work.
- Maintain transparent communication. Support the necessary meetings convened by the SPS team and other teams, properly communicate the information of the organization through the necessary spaces.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in agricultural, veterinary or biological science, sustainable natural resource or agricultural management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing staff or volunteers.
- Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., farmers, community leaders,, government officials, other staff members.
- Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in spanish and other relevant languages.
- Experience in training with rural communities and work in inter institutional environments
- Experience managing projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
