Senior Counsel Latam

*** We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with a focus on Employment Law to lead our growing Legal team in LATAM. This international legal position is full-time, remote based and reports to our General Counsel. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Review and draft complex and general employment law aspects and agreements (including confidentiality, IP rights, non-solicitation, bonus arrangements) with a main focus on the following countries: Colombia,Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and others LATAM countries jurisdictions. - Work closely with individual departments to anticipate, identify and manage compliance matters, legal exposure and risk management, and provide legal support and advice to individual departments. - Work closely with the relevant departments and provide legal advice in the process of setting up and/or maintaining local entities in the focus countries. - Provide analysis and guidance on projects across diverse areas of international employment matters, based on legislative or regulatory requirements. - Coordinate the activities of outside counsels in the different countries. - Focus on other countries and perform other key duties as may be required by the General Counsel from time to time. - Lead a team of attorneys in LATAM to manage the general legal business matters of the region. **QUALIFICATIONS** - JD degree or its equivalent from a local university in LATAM. - At least 7 years of employment law experience - Master law degree from a university in Labor is a plus. - Business proficiency in the English language required. - Demonstrate experience with handling multiple cases at the same time, service-orientated quick turnarounds, project management, and providing practical compliant solutions - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Excellent analytical skills; capable of identifying and prioritizing issues and escalating where appropriate - High level of personal integrity and professional ethics. - Experience with Employer of Record (EoR) is a plus - Adaptable and flexible - able to juggle between and deliver up on variation of tasks, ready for a challenge. - Able to adjust to changes and local requirements of local regulations and to provide fast and practical advice to internal clients. - Business partner with commercial, HR Specialists and operations internal team daily and on a longer term for specific projects. **OUR VALUES** - **Velocity**: Exceeding expectations of our customers, colleagues, and ourselves by delivering swift and effective results. - **Integrity**: Doing right by our customers, colleagues, and ourselves through honest and ethical actions. - **Be Bold**: Daring to take risks, learn, and grow to benefit our customers, colleagues, and ourselves. - **Empowerment**:Owning our decisions and being accountable for the impact we have on our customers, colleagues, and ourselves. - **Service**: Supporting our customers, colleagues, and ourselves with respect and empathy. **WHAT WE DO** Velocity Global is one of the fastest-growing companies in the world.
