The Vice President defines the vision and strategic direction of CI's work in the country, providing technical guidance and overseeing programmatic commitments. It coordinates relationships between institutions in the private, public, academic, and social sectors to implement projects and develop national and regional policies that promote conservation. It is also responsible for fundraising and efficient resource management, which strengthens, promotes, and consolidates CI's institutional image.

Additionally, the Vice President develops strategic alliances with relevant partners, identifies and catalyzes opportunities for cooperation and funding, and actively participates in the Country Management Team and other leadership networks. It represents CI in the country, playing a crucial role in building and strengthening fundamental alliances for CI's conservation strategy, ensuring that programs are multidisciplinary and based on a solid scientific foundation.

This position leads the program in the locations where CI has a presence, creating and strengthening partnerships with the government and civil society. It identifies conservation outcomes that simultaneously provide tangible benefits for livelihoods and align with the political priorities of the areas where CI operates.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage and guide programmatic commitments through the personnel responsible for project implementation.
- Lead national strategic planning processes, ensuring the integration of program objectives with regional and global initiatives, monitoring and evaluating their progress.
- Evaluate and approve the annual program budget, including workforce planning and comprehensive human resource management, to ensure efficient allocation aligned with program objectives.
- Oversee and take responsibility for the financial management of the program and the delivery of results to donors.
- Initiate and lead fundraising efforts by developing and supporting project proposals and managing donor relationships. Seek funding opportunities for new programs and projects.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team by fostering effective communication, instilling organizational values, and modeling competencies, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment that attracts, develops, and retains talented and committed individuals, supporting their professional development.
- Plan and propose conservation programs and projects suitable for meeting the organization's objectives at national, regional, and global levels. Evaluate and approve research and conservation projects developed by partners receiving technical and/or financial support from CI.
- Represent CI's mission and interests in Colombia, building and maintaining crucial partnerships, including local, state, federal, and international government entities, universities, NGOs, and communities.
- Represent the program in high-level meetings with CI's regional and global management teams, coordinating technical interaction at a global level.

REPORTING AND COLLABORATION STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Senior Vice President of South America.
- This position works closely with national and regional program leaders.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Leads alliances on behalf of the program and must travel regularly both nationally and internationally. These trips are characterized by travel by land, sea, and air; and occasionally, in changing and extreme weather conditions.
- This position follows a hybrid work structure, working some days from the office and some remotely. Guidance will be shared during the interview process.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Required**
- Given that strategic alliances with various sectors, such as business, government, and others, are required to meet CI's strategic goals, it is necessary for the person assuming this position to have high skills and extensive experience in understanding and managing the social and political structures of Colombia and the region.
- Professional degree in Engineering or Sciences: Administrative, Ecological, Social, or related disciplines, with a Master's, Doctorate, or PhD in any of the mentioned professions. (Postgraduate education can be substituted with 20 years of experience in similar positions).
