**What your background should look like**:
- Technical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop Solar PV design/construction packages including solar array layouts, electricalSLD, DC collection systems, collection system studies (Cable Ampacity, Power Losses), and equipment installation details for Utility Scale Solar PV systems (5-500MW+).
- Perform analysis and evaluations to determine the most cost-effective DC CollectionSystem designs for Utility Scale Solar PV Systems (5-500MW+).
- Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs (pre-LNTP).
- Manage external subcontractors for other adjacent services.
- Interact directly with clients for successful project execution.
- Use Excel spreadsheets, commercial and proprietary engineering software to designSolar PV systems.
- Potential site visits to gather notes and take pictures of existing conditions to aid indesign and identify critical flaws.
- Contribute to continual development of internal solar engineering standards, toolsets,and work processes.
- Turning initial system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPC designs.Other Key Responsibilities:
- Experience with estimating or designing electrical systems is mandatory.
- Oversee and execute process improvements and the development of policies,procedures, methods, and tools in support of delivery.
- Responsibilities include supporting pre-sales processes and working with sales andaccount management professionals to win new business; implementing business; proposal review and refinement; recruiting and staff development.
- Research and development in solar technology for new product development and staycurrent on new technological developments in the field. Generates new ideas, goes beyond the status quo; recognizes the need for new or modified approaches
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees,management, and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Design knowledge in other renewable areas such as Energy Storage, High Voltageunderground cable systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC/NBR requirements, and construction practices.
- The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment iscrucial.
- What your background should look like:
- Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Education or experience with power systems analysis and design.
- Approximately 1-3 years in the electrical engineering of Renewable Energies (Solar) Systems.
- Proficiency use of Excel and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes/standards (NEC, NBR, AEA, NTC, IEC, IEEE).
- Experience with cable sizing (ampacity, voltage drop) and power loss calculations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including study report writing.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong operational, project management, consulting technology and process skills.
- Functional expertise with PVSyst, SAM or PVFarm for PV analysis - Desired
- Experience with power systems modeling software such as CYMCAP, ETAP, DIgSILENTPowerFactory, PSSE, PSLF, or similar software - Not a must
- Experience with performance of electrical system studies - load flow and reactivepower, short circuit, cable ampacity analysis - Not a must **Competencies**:
