AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team has an immediate opportunity available for a Hydraulic Engineer III for employment in Bogota, Colombia.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design for diverse projects.
- Develop floodplain, inundation, and stormwater models.
- Conduct scour calculations and design mitigation measures.
- Design and assess linear infrastructure and site drainage systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Execute stormwater runoff modeling and drainage design for urban and rural settings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hydrologic and hydraulic solutions into broader project designs.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
- elements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
**Qualifications**
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design.
- Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, ARCGIS, CIVIL3D or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
