This role focuses on** **Blackboard Learn, a product in which we pride ourselves on creating well-designed web and mobile solutions to support learners, instructors, and administrators. Blackboard Learn allows learners and instructors to access online educational experiences wherever and whenever they want through web and mobile devices. Our technology helps instructors breathe life into educational content, brings efficiency to day-to-day tasks, and empowers instructors with tools to engage and assess every learner. We help motivate learners by promoting collaboration, communication, and connections with their peers and instructors.

Blackboard’s Product Line Management - Teaching and Learning team is focused on the roadmap and product evolution of our flagship product, Learn. As Product Manager, you will support the success of Blackboard Learn and the concerns of Learn users in general. You will be the go-to person for any questions or communication related to the product and will work closely and effectively with the numerous and varied teams and individuals contributing to the product, including Product Design, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales, and Support.

Specific responsibilities will include:

- Researching and understanding the problems of instructors and students; being able to accurately and thoroughly articulate requirements which strive to solve the problems identified
- Prioritizing requirements based on quantitative and qualitative evidence in a manner that best supports Blackboard’s business goals
- Communicating to customers and internal stakeholders about the product itself, upcoming releases, and product roadmaps
- Coordinating closely with other divisions of Blackboard to ensure cohesive solutions and capabilities
- Working closely with the senior product leadership team to inform the strategic direction and Blackboard Learn product roadmap
- Obtaining feedback from users, customers, Sales, Engineering, and other constituencies
- Maintaining awareness of trends in education and technology as well as competitive positioning
- This role requires approximately 20% travel
- Required skills_/qualifications_:_
- 5+ years of prior relevant experience
- Intrinsically motivated with internal locus of control
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams including building collaboration and consensus among diverse teams of peers, experts, and senior management
- Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced, demanding environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work through conflict to meet objectives and maintain strong relationships across teams with different work styles and personalities
- Ability to effectively deal with a certain degree of ambiguity/autonomy and capable of making sound business decisions
- Strong researching skills
- Excellent writing, communication, prioritization, and presentation skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
- Preferred skills_/qualifications_:_
- University degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of software product management experience
- Product Management or Product Owner certifications
