Senior 2nd Line

We're actively seeking a remote Senior 2nd Line / Environments Support Engineer to offer technical and developer assistance to customers using our Cloud Platform products, solutions, and APIs. This position includes a good knowledge of networking, Linux, and GCP Networking skills. You will work in conjunction with the global 24x5 support organization to provide critical technical support to customers. Moreover, you'll join forces with Engineers and Product Managers to refine the product and ensure our customers succeed in their endeavors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions, and APIs, including Google Compute Engine and associated services
- Collaborate with Engineers and Product Managers to refine the product
- Offer technical help and support as part of a widely dispersed 24x5-support organization
- Handle change requests and incident tickets for the rest of the Infrastructure Teams, including Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management
- Adhere to communication standards involving operational issues with the business
- Test work comprehensively using test cases, and set up monitoring enact performance audit and optimize performance
- Design, deploy, follow, explain, and enhance defined ITIL/ITSM processes in your team as well as linked teams

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 3+ years of experience as a Networking Engineer or a combination of Networking and Sysadmin roles
- Extensive knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server
- Proficiency in web and mail protocols (HTTP, TLS, SMTP, etc.)
- Experience with layer-2, layer-3, and/or layer-4 network protocols and technologies, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, NFSv4.x, SMB
- Solid knowledge of GCP Networking
- Familiarity with routing protocols like (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRRP, IP, HSRP, MPLS, BGP for dual ISP, etc. protocols) and the execution of load balancing
- Understanding of network security protocols and tools (firewall policies, rules, best practices, VPN, IPSEC, GETVPN)
- Experience with shell scripting and in handling multiple tasks and processes
- Familiarity with VMs (Google Compute Engine, VMware, Amazon EC2, etc.)
- Competency in setting up monitoring, conducting performance audits and optimizing performance
- Proficiency in troubleshooting with network troubleshooting tools (traceroute, iperf, tcproute) and identifying latency and performance complications (traffic egress/ingress, routing, forwarding rules, connectivity, etc.)
- Strong understanding of administration (user accounts, permission models, access control)
- Knowledge of Software development processes and methodologies, and proven ability to design, deploy, follow, explain, and enhance defined ITIL/ITSM processes
- Knowledge of SQL
- English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level
