Finance Automation Engineer

As Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are looking for a **Finance Automation Engineer** to enhance our finance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for streamlining and automating financial processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in our financial reporting. This is a full.time job remote position from Colombia, where you will be working for our global teams. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from your home whenever you want and of course at our office in Medellin. It’s up to you Additionally, you can work from any location you want within the Americas for up to 4 weeks at a time for a maximum of 12 weeks in a year.

**What this role looks like**
As our **Finance Automation Engineer**, you will work closely with the VP of Finance & Operations to lead the development, implementation, and scaling of automation solutions within our finance operations. Your mission will be to innovate and streamline workflows across various financial functions, improving accuracy, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring compliance. This position requires a unique blend of technical proficiency and financial acumen, enabling our finance team to operate at maximum efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

**Key responsibilities**
- Design, develop and implement highly scalable automation solutions for financial processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting.
- Closely collaborate with Finance, RevOps and Data Engineering teams to identify and automate workflows that elevate data accuracy and reliability, transforming everyday tasks into seamless, tech-driven processes.
- Design and maintain financial dashboards and real-time reporting tools to provide actionable insights and facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Act as the Finance Automation architect: constantly spot bottlenecks and engineer smart solutions to shape how the future of Finance looks like at Virtuagym
- Train team members on new automation tools and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the finance team.
- Constantly evaluate and implement new technologies in financial automation, pushing the company to become automation and AI-driven.

**What you will bring to the team**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance automation, finance operations, or related engineering roles with demonstrated experience in financial process optimization.
- Proficiency with financial software, Billing systems, ERP systems, and automation tools; experience with scripting and coding languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and leverage financial data to drive process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; full working proficiency is a must-have.
- Detail-oriented and solution-focused, with a proactive approach to enhancing financial systems and workflows.
