Job Description

As a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer, you will be the driver of both transformation and new ideas. You will design solutions for multiple business capabilities and must have fluency in Linux, automation, scripting, security, and networking fundamentals. You will help Rockwell move to a Cloud-Smart operating model that creates the best, agile, and on-demand IT products and services.

Reporting to Senior IT Manager

Your Responsibilities:

- You will contribute to the configuration management effort for a large, diverse, and complex existing computing environment
- You will design configuration standards
- You will design landing zone automation for computing environments
- You will provide technical guidance for team members and coworkers on best practices with a specific focus on Linux and Unix operating systems
- You will monitor computing environments and develop ways to improve monitoring
- You will develop automated runbooks for common tasks and resolving support escalation issues
- You will maintain daily management and administration of projects
- You will manage CI/CD tools with team
- You will design multiple processes; update existing processes
- You will follow all best practices as established by our company

The Essentials - You Will Have:

- Bahcelor degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

- At least 7 years of experience managing Linux environments through automation
- At least 5 years of experience managing large Linux environments through automation
- At least 5 years of experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
- Scripting and automation skills (Terraform, Python, Git and Go)
- Demonstrated experience in systems administration
- At least 3 years of experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools
- At least 3 years of experience building secure cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS, or GCP
- An aversion to manually fixing repeatable operational tasks with an affinity for automation
