**Job Description**:
The Communications Manager is responsible for leading, planning, implementation, and management of high-quality communication activities/content to engage internal and external audiences, as well as building and protecting our corporate brand. He/she is accountable for capturing media opportunities for the company brand positioning to share our company’s purpose, vision, business updates and culture pillars. In addition to this, the Communications Manager works closely to the Senior Leadership in order to provide counselling on strategic executive communications and the Managing Directors’ internal and external positioning plan. He/she is also accountable for leading and supervising the performance of the Communications Analyst, who is responsible for the execution of the Colombia-Ecuador Cluster Internal Communications plan.
In addition to the above, the Communication Manager leads and coordinates corporate participation in social responsibility-related activities (both local, regional and corporate programs), as well as corporate philanthropy initiatives (donations).
The role requires a self-motivated and organized individual who can work effectively and confidently within a dynamic and cross-functional team.
**Primary Activities**:
- Design a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy for the company with key audiences, channels, platforms, and messaging framework.
- Work in alignment with the Senior Leadership, the Policy Team and Business Units to create communication initiatives aligned with the Business Objectives and the environment trends.
- Manage corporate digital assets (corporate website, regional social media channels) to promote company positioning at a local and at a LATAM level.
- Lead the implementation of company global brand guidelines at a local level to ensure brand consistency.
- Create core messages, talking points, position statements and press releases according to the communications & business strategy.
- Develop a public relations and thought leadership strategy by identifying key opportunities to position company´s Managing Director in traditional and in digital media.
- Develop a corporate communications strategy in alignment with HR to position the company as a top employer and a leader in pharmaceutical industry.
- Close co-operation with fellow Communication Managers from across Latin America and worldwide, share best practices, capitalize on regional and global opportunities.
- Crisis communications: Handling and supervising short-term reactive communications, skills in order to assess the situation, create a plan and act quickly.
- Keep current on trends, issues and news about the business and pharmaceutical environment.
- Identify and cultivate media contacts, manage the dissemination of media information.
- Lead and supervise the work of the Internal Communications analyst, as well as the execution of the Internal Communications Plan for the Colombia-Ecuador Cluster.
- Manage a portfolio of external vendors for graphic design (design agency), communications strategy, and communications execution (PR agency).
- Manage and keep track of Communications Budget execution.
- Lead Company's Social Responsibility activities and philanthropy (donations).
- Comply with internal policies and maintain an accurate record of social responsibility and philanthropy activities for audit purposes.
- Understand the regulatory environment in which our Company operates and assisting in the timely communication of relevant compliance and business practices policies.
**Profile required**:
- 10 to 12 years of experience in working with internal and external communications, pharmaceutical sector is a plus
- Well familiarized and proficient working with digital publishing tools, digital platforms, and social media
- Excellent and fluent professional communication skills (written and verbal) in Spanish and in English
- Hands-on way of working, used to work both strategically and operationally, getting things done
- Strong operational excellence, project management and problem-solving skills
- Able to analyze problems and to anticipate risks that may affect a project
- High self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
- Good organization and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Be a good team worker and work well with others
- High ethics, integrity, and discretion; ability to build trustworthy relationships
- Ability to work cross-functionally and to translate business messages and tailor them for different audiences
