The Product Team at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Lead Software Engineer - Web / SmartTVs to join our team

The Lead Software Engineer will work in different projects made up of multicultural teams distributed throughout the world. This is a proactive, team players passionate about programming and oriented to provide the best experience to the end user

ABOUT YOU:
Great engineers ship and comfortable with delivering iteratively and often. You evangelize software craftsmanship and operational excellence yet pragmatic to know when to incur technical debt versus ‘doing it right’. You value open communication and are willing to give and receive feedback.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

- Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team
- Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals
- Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments
- Updating work schedules and performing troubleshooting as required
- Perform code review and add documentation
- Motivating staff and creating a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns
- Contribute ideas and innovations, wherever you see opportunity for improvement

YOU HAVE:

- Professional experience in development using modern JavaScript stacks/frameworks/technologies (5+ years)
- Professional knowledge of JavaScript design patterns and best practices
- Development experience with sever languages like: node.js
- Experience working with GraphQL
- Professional knowledge of state management libraries like Redux, vuex, MobX, ngrx (at least 2 closed projects, 1-2 years)
- High-Level knowledge of HTTP Protocol and standard data exchange protocols
- Knowleage of streaming technologies and protocols: HLS, DASH, DRM
- Professional knowledge of automated testing (unit testing, end-to-end testing)
- In-depth understanding of JavaScript engines, CSS3 and CSS processors (Sass) and CSS in js
- Experience in performance optimization, detecting, removing and - most importantly - preventing bottlenecks, caching and lazy-loading
- Good experience debugging and troubleshooting complex issues on remote TVs
- Experience leading a team of 3+ engineers
- Video Streaming technologies
- Good understanding of good and clean code
- UX design skills
- Typescript
- GraphQL
- Smart TV/OTT/Streaming HTML5 Application Development
- Experience integrating third-party data libraries such as Segment, Kochava, Conviva, NPAW, New Relic, Permutiv or Braze
