**Billing Specialist**

**Location**: On-Site Medellín, Antioquia

**Job Type**: Full-time 40 hours weekly **PST Schedule**

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and submit insurance claims to various payers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Review and verify patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy before billing.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and denials, conducting thorough research to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of claims submissions, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients to address billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure all services are documented and billed appropriately.
- Stay updated on industry changes, payer policies, and billing regulations.
- Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance billing or medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
