Responsibilities:

- Perform comprehensive bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Desktop and Online
- Prepare and file GST/HST reports on a quarterly and annual basis
- Calculate payroll for clients
- Complete WSIB reports for provincial insurance compliance in Canada.
- Communicate directly with Spanish and English-speaking clients to gather information and answer questions
- Prepare financial statements, profit and loss reports, and other standard accounting documents
- Organize and maintain client financial documentation and receipts
- Handle audit support and information requests from Canada Revenue Agency
- Manage quarterly and annual workload spikes that may require overtime hours
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy
- Track accounts receivable and accounts payable, follow up on outstanding balances, and ensure timely vendor payments
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for all assigned clients
- Provide year-end preparation support for tax filings and liaise with accountants during tax season
- Use cloud-based document sharing platforms to securely exchange files with clients and to keep our database organized, in compliance with our internal standards
- Provide periodic financial insights or recommendations to improve client cash flow and cost control
- Manage complete bookkeeping operations for multiple diverse client accounts, including but not limited to restaurants, construction companies, janitorial services companies, brokerages, and car dealerships

Scope:

- Full-time position (44 hours per week) with potential overtime during quarterly and annual reporting periods
- Work directly with Latino community clients in Toronto area
- Serve as primary point of contact for client financial questions and communications
- Handle sensitive tax and financial information requiring discretion and accuracy
- Adapt to existing client workflows and integrate with established business processes
- Typical shifts are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid break. You may need to work different hours during corporate tax season.
- Potential for role expansion into additional administrative and tax-related tasks
