**The Position**
- The Technical Customer Consultant is a knowledgeable Python, SQL, and Cloud backend programmer who is responsible for helping BriteCore’s Insurance Policy Administration customers diagnose and resolve their most complex challenges.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide excellent service over the phone and in writing along with assisting the customer with troubleshooting.
- Answer complex questions about BriteCore and its use, configuration and functionality.
- Employ excellent time management and customer communication skills to ensure that you are working on the most urgent/important issues and collaborating with customers on the status.
- Create well-thought out detailed feature specifications to meet client needs and enhance the solution.
- Staff an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
- Escalate critical issues and defects as necessary with Engineering, Hosting, and Data teams, provide business impact, and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and senior team members on fixes.
- Become an expert in the usage, configuration, and troubleshooting of the BriteCore Insurance Policy Administration SaaS solution. This will include lines, policies, claims, and reports.
- Develop a deep knowledge-base in Mutual P&C Insurance best practices and work processes including insurance policy manuals, rating manuals, and underwriting guidelines.
- Leverage your technical knowledge in Python, SQL, AWS, and Linux backend development and your P & C insurance work process and BriteCore solution expertise to quickly determine root causes and provide elegant solutions to complex issues.
- Understand the vast number of settings in the platform and try permutations to solve client’s configuration problems and isolate/characterize defects.
**Requirements**:
- 2+ Years experience in Python Backend Web Development in Enterprise, B2B SaaS companies: Programming, debugging, scripting, and Django, Web.py, or other frameworks.
- Computer Science, technical degree, or equivalent practical experience with a solid understanding of programming concepts.
- MySQL query, report writing, DBA experience.
- Familiarity with AWS Technologies:
- a. EC2 (Servers/Instances), ECS and Lambda & API Gateway.
- b. Amazon S3 - Get in and download log files. Vendor integrations.
- c. CloudWatch - Writing queries.
- d. Step Functions.
- Experience testing API endpoints.
- Experience working in an Ubuntu environment (Linux), SSH’ing into sites, running shell tools/scripts, navigation and basic administration.
- Familiar with JavaScript.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- a. English intermediate/advanced - C1 CEFR is a MUST
- Desire to learn continuously and operate in a fast-paced environment
**Nice to have**:
- MooTools, jQuery, and Knockout JS.
- Familiar with Jinja code to write custom document templates for customers.
- a. Write, test, and deploy PRs
- Experience with GitHub highly desirable
- Experience using ZenDesk, JIRA, and Google office solutions will be helpful.
- BriteCore Product usage and configuration expert with great problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Able to create complex reports using solutions like SQL and/or AWS QuickSite.
- Mutual Insurance industry expertise with the ability to quickly become highly proficient in BriteCore usage and configuration is preferred.
- Flexibility, including the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; capable of operating in an ambiguous environment.
