Sr Designer

Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.

Must-haves:

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- A higher level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- 5+ years of experience of 3D CAD modeling & drafting experience
- Experience using CAD within a PLM/PDM environment
- Thorough understanding of 3D CAD modeling and drafting best practices
- Experience with 3D CAD Large Assembly Management

Preferred:

- Associates or Technical Degree in a related field
- Experience using NX/Teamcenter software.
- Working knowledge of ASME and Government standards.
- Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry.
- Knowledge of industry-standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware and or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes
- Ability to create instructions and present training
- CAD quality development, review and checks (NX Checkmate)
- 3D CAD design workflows and processes
- Experience using MBD, digital twins, and digital threads
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $88,499.72 - $121,687.12
