Overview*
DreamHost is looking for a senior-level Designer III who can help lead the future of design and UX at DreamHost. From championing and managing design efforts for major, large-scale project initiatives, to building polished user interfaces and design patterns that resonate with users, to directing the various aspects of our design ecosystem such as our product initiatives, marketing site, pattern library and cross-departmental incoming tasks, to mentorship and training of other more junior designers on the team, the Designer III is a primary owner and driver who sets the standard for what design at DreamHost should entail. Furthermore, you’ll work closely with a team of enthusiastic designers who seek to proudly own and leave a lasting mark on everything we touch.

Responsibilities*
- Provide direction for proper execution of all design aspects of product initiatives, including full UX scoping, delegation of design duties, spearheading QA during the development cycle and seeing all releases to full and polished completion
- Coordinate team with engineering, marketing, product management and stakeholders to include competitive analysis, user feedback, usability testing, and any other requisite research needed for determining the end-to-end user experience
- Create user flows, sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity/in-browsers mockups, and/or prototypes to assist with the product development process
- Identify areas of need and champion project initiatives by developing business cases and driving them forward into production

- Provide onboarding and training for new designs, as well as ongoing mentorship and education for more junior designers
- Fluent in English - you may be asked to complete and pass an English assessment
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Web/Graphic Design, Media, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience
- Experience building, maintaining, and generally using design systems
- 5+ years of experience working as a designer, or equivalent experience
- 1-2+ years of experience working as a team lead or in a senior team member role
- A portfolio with examples of design and/or coding work
- Proficiency in visual design and/or illustration and associated software: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Full understanding of front-end technologies and the development process as they pertain to design work
- Full understanding and demonstrated ability to work utilizing modern project management practices and processes in the context of Agile software development

- Knowledge of extended modern front-end tools and frameworks, such as SASS, Gulp, Jekyll, Node.js/NPM, and React
- Knowledge of back-end technologies, such as Perl, Python, MySQL, or similar
