AECOM is seeking a Practice Lead for our RACC LATAM Practice Area within our Environment Business Line. In this role, you will be a key member of the RACC team and play an instrumental role growing the practice.
AECOM’s Resilience + Climate Change (RACC) practice is a cross-disciplinary technical center of excellence providing innovative resilience and climate adaptation solutions. Adaptation focuses on strategies, initiatives, and individual or collective measures aimed at reducing the vulnerability of human and natural systems to current and future climate impacts. Our team works with communities, governments, and the private sector to mainstream and embed climate risk assessment and adaptation actions as part of established asset management planning, risk management, and financial planning procedures.
Through the RACC Practice, we anticipate the market and our client’s needs; safeguard the physical, environmental, and social landscapes in which we live; collaborate with AECOM specialists across the Americas and the globe; and share lessons learned, capabilities, innovations, best practices, and state-of-the-science globally to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

In providing these services to our clients, the role provides the opportunity to be involved in projects at local, regional, state, national, and international scales addressing climate change risks, opportunities, vulnerability, and resilience for both the public and private sectors.
You will gain exposure to a wide range of professional services delivered by AECOM globally, as well as have access to leading experts within our business. Industry and technical engagement are encouraged and supported, enabling you to build your profile and practically demonstrate and develop your expertise.
The primary functions of this mission critical and high profile role include but are not limited to the following:
+ The Practice Lead will develop and enhance key internal relationships across technical practices, business lines, and geographies, as well as develop and enhance external relationships with key clients. You will support building and leading a team of passionate and skilled resilience practitioners and provide technical support in the areas of:
+ Nature-Based Solutions / Green-Grey Infrastructure
+ Climate Action, Adaptation, and Resilience Plans/Strategies
+ Vulnerability Analyses & Risk Assessments
+ RACC components of EIA projects (e.g., CEQA, NEPA, IAA, SACC)
+ Natural Disaster Preparedness Review & Guidance
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Planning, or related field (MS preferred)
+ 8+ years’ experience in resilience/climate change or related fields (e.g. ecology, biology, natural resources, disaster risk management, natural resources restoration)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Architect or Engineer with more than 15 years of professional experience
+ Demonstrated project management experience and a proven record of project delivery to high standards, on time and within budget
+ Demonstrated skill, versatility, and creativity with program management and leadership experience in conservation, ecological management, environmental science, and research
+ Strong research and management experience guiding projects to help conserve and restore the environment and build climate-resilient communities
+ High-level view of systems and data-centered approach to problem-solving based on extensive background in ecology and environmental science
+ Exemplary and successful proposal and grant writing experience
+ History of building, leading, and working in high-level teams and steering committees, including managing and overseeing work allocation and assessing team members’ strengths and capacities
+ Experience in the development, implementation, and assessment of long-range strategic plans that maintain alignment with clients’ core missions
+ Experience in technical consultation and project planning in the areas of regulatory compliance and sustainability
+ Ability to communicate and translate science to both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Strong detail-oriented work style, with excellent oral and written communication skills, and a solutions-oriented proactive attitude
+ Proficiency in developing and delivering technical excellence improvement initiatives and innovations to ensure we continuously strengthen our client value and maintain a competitive position in the market.
