**Shape our customers' digital strategies**
As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will sit at the heart of the sales process. You will be the technical evangelist supporting customers with the adoption of our products and services. You'll play a pivotal role in showing customers the value of our solutions and closing the sale.
As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with sales to develop opportunities through presentations, consultation, technical demonstrations, customer analysis reports and proof-of-concepts
- Understanding customers' business goals & requirements, translate them to technical problems, and map them to Akamai solutions
- Building trusted relationships with customers' decision-makers to articulate Akamai's value proposition and build future revenue opportunities
- Participating in ongoing training initiatives to be up-skill yourself and train others
- Being able to travel up to 25% for client and customer meetings
**Do what you love**
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma - Bachelor's Diploma in Computer Science, or related technical field
- Demonstrate experience with Cybersecurity technologies
- Have knowledge or understanding in Cloud Technology or Web security
- Be experience and familiar with a customer facing environment such as technical sales or consulting
- Demonstrate good written/verbal presentation skills and have the ability to collaborate with external and internal stakeholders
- Display solid problem-solving skills, a desire for results, and an appetite to learn new technologies
