**Purpose**

Contributes to the overall success of the DBA team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

**Accountabilities**
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Implementing PostgreSQL database clusters with replication
- Manage database security/integrity and backup procedures
- Upgrade Database instances from lower versions to current versions.
- Assist with database design and development and tuning queries
- Independently manage MongoDB installations and configurations in Linux environments and cloud(GCP).
- Implement multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters across Linux platforms and MongoDB Atlas on GCP.
- Ensure database security with knowledge of audit, security, backup/recovery and encryption at rest.
- Tackle complex problems through conceptualization and reasoningUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**Education / Experience / Other Information**
- ** Must to have**:

- Strong PostgreSQL skills from version 12 to current.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Enterprise and MongoDB Atlas.
- Proficient in configuring MongoDB in a Linux/Unix environment and cloud
- Experience with implementing multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters
- B1+ level of English
- ** Soft sklills**:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- ** Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of audit processes, security measures, encryption at rest, MongoDB version upgrades (nice to have).

**Working Conditions**
- Incumbent in will be working in journeys according to the legislation. it will be required to cover out of business hours shifts
