The Opportunity We are seeking a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. You will be a technical leader, working to improve reliability, scalability, and automation across our systems while mentoring others. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Design : Design and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure using a variety of AWS services (EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront). Infrastructure as Code : Champion declarative, reproducible infrastructure using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation. System Architecture & Design : Translate business problems into modular, distributed system architectures, designing for observability, failure recovery, and long-term operability. Platform Reliability : Build and maintain highly available systems with automated failover, scaling, and monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana. DevOps Enablement : Evolve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI) that empower teams to deploy frequently and safely. Technical Leadership : Lead by example through hands‑on contributions, providing technical guidance, and mentoring the team through design reviews and shared postmortem learnings. Cross‑functional Collaboration : Work closely with developers, product managers, and security stakeholders to align infrastructure decisions with product strategy and compliance. Operational Excellence : Establish robust monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing strategies for platform components and remove toil through self‑service tools and documentation. Our Core Tooling & Concepts IaC : Terraform, CloudFormation CI/CD : Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI Languages : Python, Ruby, Go, Java Concepts : Microservices, Distributed Systems, Pub/Sub, API Design, Security, Agile & DevOps Mindset Qualifications Cloud Expertise : 5+ years of hands‑on experience architecting and managing AWS environments. Kubernetes : Strong experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production, especially via Amazon EKS. Infrastructure as Code : Production experience with Terraform and CloudFormation for managing cloud‑native infrastructure at scale. Serverless Systems : Deep familiarity with event‑driven and serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions. CI/CD Mastery : Experience designing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Observability : Comfortable with implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like Prometheus and Grafana. Distributed Systems : Solid foundation in building decoupled, scalable systems using pub/sub or message queues. Languages : Proficient in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, or Java). API & Service Design : Strong experience designing APIs and implementing backend services. Security & Compliance : Understands security best practices in cloud environments. Mindset : A proven ability to deliver incrementally and work collaboratively in a lean, fast‑paced environment.
