Employment Type: Full‑Time Senior Bookkeeper The Senior Bookkeeper is the foundation of Ospino Consulting’s Colombia accounting team. This role requires advanced technical execution, operational oversight, and future leadership potential. This individual will: Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping for a high‑volume portfolio (up to 50 clients depending on complexity). Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of client financial records. Maintain clean, audit‑ready books monthly. Review and coach junior bookkeepers as the team grows. Collaborate directly with the U.S. Controller and CFO team. Serve as the future Accounting Manager (Colombia) as the team expands. Key Responsibilities Technical Accounting (70%) Perform daily bookkeeping for a large portfolio of U.S.-based clients. Complete and oversee monthly reconciliations (bank, credit card, loans, payroll). Manage A/R, A/P, bills, invoicing, and journal entries. Maintain accrual‑based accounting records aligned with GAAP. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements: Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow. Review & Quality Control (20%) Review work produced by junior bookkeepers (present/future hires). Identify errors, inconsistencies, or gaps; provide clear, constructive feedback. Uphold internal quality standards and monthly closing deadlines. Collaboration & Process Improvement (10%) Work directly with the U.S. Controller and FP&A team. Use firm tools (Keeper, QuickBooks Online, Excel) for workflow and communication. Support SOP and playbook implementation to ensure standardization. Suggest improvements to workflows, systems, and team processes. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Associate degree acceptable with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Prior experience with U.S.-based clients or BPO/outsourced accounting strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage high client volume and deadlines. Experience reviewing or training junior bookkeepers is a strong plus. Technical Proficiency Advanced QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency. Familiarity with Keeper, Asana, TaxDome, or similar systems preferred. Ability to prepare complete monthly financial statements. Soft Skills Strong written and verbal communication (Spanish + intermediate English). High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Growth mindset—open to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
