Quality Control Coordinator

Overview Quality Control Coordinator (Zona Franca Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia) — Ecoflora plant. Full-Time position focused on microbiology, quality control, and continuous improvement to ensure product compliance with internal and external standards. Role Responsibilities Design, implement, and lead the microbiological quality assurance and control program at the plant. Define, validate, and document microbiological analysis methodologies for raw materials, intermediate processes, and final products. Coordinate and execute sampling, analysis, data management, and statistical validation activities. Establish key indicators related to microbiological and general performance of the quality system. Monitor environmental controls and critical points within the production process. Actively participate in the design, monitoring, and implementation of management systems under ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Promote ongoing training of operating personnel in good manufacturing practices and microbiological control. Maintain accurate documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and archive documents for the required retention period. Review production records to verify products meet quality standards before distribution. Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions or improvement plans; assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues during production or distribution. Assist with review of Certificates of Analysis to ensure accuracy and proper formatting. Collaborate with supply planners and production teams to obtain manufacturing records and quality data in a timely manner; work with QC team to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Ensure the implementation, standardization, and optimization of the cleaning and disinfection program. Education, Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Microbiology and Bioanalysis, Biological Engineering with emphasis on microbiology or industrial processes; or an Associate degree in Chemistry with 2 years of relevant experience, or 3-5 years of experience in quality control with emphasis on microbiology in manufacturing. Certifications/experience in ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, HACCP, GMP and related standards are highly valued. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication. Basic understanding of pesticide chemistries, formulation sciences, and/or manufacturing procedures; ability to work with pesticide materials safely. Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and MS Office. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks; solid knowledge of microbiological techniques as applied to agriculture and natural products. Ability to develop and interpret statistical analyses of microbiological data; skill in designing and implementing SOPs. Knowledge of methodologies for defining PC and PCC. Job Qualifications Experience in microbiology-focused quality control within manufacturing. Familiarity with cleaning and sanitization programs and regulatory expectations. Working Conditions Work in a laboratory, manufacturing plant, and office environment; periods of standing, sitting, and data entry. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs; willingness to handle pesticide materials following safety guidelines. Ability to work rotating shifts.
