David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leading B2B solution provider who is looking to recruit a Senior Light Manager to join their team in Bogota, Colombia.

Position : Senior Light Manager

Location : Bogota, Colombia

Employment type : Full-time

Work model : on-site

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Oversee all aspects of the lighting department in a 24/7 live studio environment
  2. Ensure smooth operations and coordinate with studio directors, producers, and technical teams to align lighting strategies with production goals
  3. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to enhance performance and maintain high standards
  4. Work closely with studio directors, producers, and technical departments to integrate lighting strategies with overall production objectives
  5. Supervise and support senior lighting technicians and departmental staff
  6. Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations while fostering a positive work environment
  7. Manage stock levels to ensure smooth production, often under tight deadlines
  8. Focus on innovation and collaboration with other departments to deliver top-quality results
  9. Ensure lighting operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards
  10. Maintain and update departmental records, including equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and operational reports
  11. Troubleshoot and resolve complex lighting and equipment issues
  12. Report to the director on performance and significant department issues
  13. Stay informed about industry trends to continually improve operations and equipment

REQUIREMENTS :

  1. Native or fluent in English (C1 level), with strong proficiency in both written and spoken communication
  2. Proven experience in a managerial role within a live studio or similar environment, with a strong background in lighting operations
  3. Extensive knowledge of studio lighting equipment, control systems, and techniques
  4. Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices for live studio operations
  5. Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams, providing mentorship, and offering performance feedback
  6. Skilled at motivating and guiding a diverse team
  7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure, meeting tight deadlines effectively
  8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report to senior management, collaborate across departments, and develop policies to enhance efficiency
  9. Highly proactive with a focus on innovation and collaboration
  10. Flexible to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to support the 24/7 studio operation
  11. Relevant technical certification or degree in lighting design, electrical engineering, or a related field
