Overview Senior Analyst Controllership & New Product Accounting role at GM Financial. The position focuses on designing and implementing accounting for new financial products, ensuring regulatory compliance (IFRS, tax regulation, and financial sector guidelines), and supporting operational accounting and regulatory/auditing activities. The role involves end-to-end involvement from ideation to product implementation and collaboration with local and international teams, including the headquarters under US GAAP guidelines. Responsibilities Design and develop financial products; define the accounting model for new products and services Evaluate impacts on financial statements, provisions, valuation, and accounting recognition under IFRS Understand tax implications to support GMF Tax team in identifying and analyzing tax impacts of products and configurations in systems Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Legal to ensure proper financial and accounting implementation Document and communicate applicable accounting criteria, ensuring correct system parameterization Participate in innovation and launch projects for new products, ensuring regulatory compliance Perform financial and accounting risk analyses for new product structures Operational accounting and control: supervise and validate accurate accounting for critical operations (portfolio, collections, payables, fixed assets, insurance) and ensure policy compliance Conduct reconciliations (including Black Line) Regulatory support and audit: assist in preparing information for auditors and control entities (e.g., DIAN, Secretaria de Hacienda, Superintendencia Financiera) Assist in preparing magnetic media disclosures Qualifications Professional with training in accounting and taxes, minimum 5 years’ experience in the financial sector Experience developing financial products (credit, leasing, automotive financing or similar) Experience working with Product, Risk, Tax, or Finance areas Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook English level: Intermediate-Advanced (B2 or higher) Desirable: Power BI Desirable experience with Oracle ERP / Oracle Fusion Preferably advanced IFRS knowledge, especially recognition, measurement, and disclosure of financial instruments Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication with colleagues and suppliers Equal Opportunity GM Financial is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion at every level of our organization.
