For more information, visit generation.org About the contractor role Location requirements : Remote (with reliable WiFi) Start date : February 202 End date : June 202 Type contract : 4-month contractor for online training. Instruction will be delivered in Spanish and English What you’ll do "IT Support Specialist” online training facilitation based on existing content Ensure the involvement and active participation of learners in the training program Take into account the feedback and results of learners and adapt your teaching accordingly Monitor, integrate and respond to learners' contributions and requests on our communication channels (MS Teams) Monitor and manage attendance of learners together with the Assistant Instructor through our digital tools (Canvas, MS) Conduct assessments and report data on our traceability tools and report progress regularly Share feedback with the Generation team and implement recommendations to guarantee quality training for our learners Effectively use digital tools such as MS Teams and Google Drive to perform daily instructional tasks Provide quality, effective, rigorous, relevant and adapted training to an adult audience based on the course of the Generation program Develop training based on strong and trusting relationships with learners and knowledge of their strengths and challenges Be accessible to learners through office hours and/or other strategic learning opportunities Monitor learner progress by reviewing and analyzing learner data (e.g., attendance, assignments, assessments), grading, and identifying strategies to support learner needs Monitor and respond to learners' communications and requests on program channels (e.g., Teams, Slack) Conduct assessments and ensure data is accurately recorded by the assistant instructor, and learner progress is regularly reported and reviewed in Generation platform Share feedback with the Generation team and engage in ongoing analysis to maintain quality training for learners Supplementary activities to support the training program as follows Supplementary activities Deliver periodic summaries reflecting insights from learner interactions, including observations about strengths and challenges Assess and advise the Generation team about obstacles to learners' success and transition into a professional environment Participate in the organization of the cohort launch (e.g., lead pre-program orientation sessions, collaborate with delivery team and mentors) Attend onboarding sessions as agreed with the Generation team before cohort launch Coach and train the Assistant Instructor Attend upskilling sessions on the content of the program About you You: Experience and technical At least 3 years industry experience in an IT Support role (e.g., IT Support Specialist or IT Service Desk Analyst), and 2+ years teaching experience Have B2 or C1 level of English and the capacity to teach technical classes in English Solid knowledge of technical topics, including: Programming (Variables, Data Types, Control Flow, Functions, Web APIs) Linux (SSH, terminal commands, Unix permissions, Vim and Grep, Systemd, Enterprise Linux, etc.) General Computing and Networking essentials (Binary/Hex, data units, CPU architectures, hardware, cloud computing basics, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) Security (Passwords, attack surfaces, authentication vs authorization, Firewalls and NAT) Experience as a professional adult trainer is essential Strong command of digital tools is key, particularly Google Workspace and MS Teams (whiteboard, polls, breakout rooms) Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking) using online tools like Slack Mindsets and Capabilities Identify with the mission of Generation Demonstrate an interest in the intersection of social and educational initiatives Demonstrate resilience, adaptability and flexibility Motivation to work with groups of young adults who face barriers to access job opportunities Work rigorously and independently Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment Please apply with your English resume.
